Rainforestation Nature Park

Venue Information

Rainforestation Nature Park is the perfect place to host Cairns functions and events. We create truly authentic events like none you’ve ever experienced before. The combination of a tropical backdrop, the choice of three restaurants, an exclusive rainforest setting or a tropical fruit orchard to dine in, three amazing experiences that can be included and then add live music to the mix and you have the recipe for an amazing event.

The park is set over 100 acres of land, in the midst of World Heritage Listed Rainforest, and has had many uses over the years. It was originally a coffee plantation, followed by an orange orchard and today, it is a world class tourism operation. It is, and has always been, the traditional land of the Djabuguy people.

Events can be intimate, utilising only a small part of the park – perhaps an idyllic rainforest location or the Tropical Fruit Orchard. Larger groups can start with drinks and canapés under the towering gum trees in the Koala & Wildlife Park, followed by spotlight Army Duck tours through the rainforest, dinner in the Outback Restaurant and finishing with a performance by the Pamagirri Dance Troupe.

For larger events (up to 2000 people), guests can use the entire park with themed food stalls, multiple live music spaces, cultural performances, Army Duck tours, wildlife interaction and roaming entertainers all running concurrently to create a festival atmosphere. The thing we love most is to work with you to personalise your event and create memorable events that will have your guests wanting the evening to never end.

Red Carpet in the Rainforest [50-300 people]

Guests arrive at Rainforestation in Tropic Wings coaches and are greeted and escorted to the Koala & Wildlife Park for pre-dinner drinks, canapes and wildlife interaction. The towering gum trees are uplit, tropical ferns are lit with coloured lights while wildlife keepers roam with Koalas, Snakes and baby Crocodiles.

Then, it’s off for night spotlight tours of the rainforest in original WWII Army Ducks. Our entertaining guides will take you through the rainforest pointing out plants and nocturnal animals of interest while spinning some great stories.

Guests alight the Army Ducks at the Outback Restaurant. The tropical gardens (edging two sides) are twinkling with coloured and fairy lights, tables lit with tea lights and shimmering runners and the band is playing, setting the perfect ambience. Guests are greeted by waiters and drinks, as they make their way to their tables, dinner is waiting.

After dinner the Pamagirri Dance Troupe takes to the stage for an enthusiastic cultural dance performance. After, kick up your heels on the dance floor as the band kicks into high gear and takes the party to a new level.

Under The Southern Cross [200-1200 people]

This event is fun, social, casual and has the atmosphere of a carnival or festival. The whole park is lit up with twinkling fairy lights and coloured lights, and spotlights up into the trees. Music from multiple locations wafts through the air while roaming entertainers add to the fun. All of our usual activities run simultaneously for guests to experience and there is even star gazing late in the evening.

Upon boarding your Tropic Wings coaches guests are given a map and schedule of activities so that they can plan their evening and make sure that they experience all that is on offer.

Once at Rainforestation staff are waiting to greet your excited guests and escort them through the park to the waiting fun.

Themed food stalls are strategically placed around the park. Some of the incredible dishes on offer include huge paella pans serving a variety of options, noodle & curry bars dishing up tasty noodle boxes of various flavours, wood fired pizzas (made to order) and tasty sliders from the slider bar. Other options include fresh local seafood, Aussie kebabs with kangaroo, crocodile and prawns, Australian cheeses and even a donut wall …

Bars serving Australian beer, wine and soft drinks are also placed throughout the park for guests to enjoy.

Later in the evening, guests gravitate to our main restaurant where our party band is on stage. This is when guests really let their hair down and show off their best moves on the dance floor.

This is a fabulous night for everyone involved.

Aussie Bush Night [50-300 people]

This night is similar to the Red Carpet in the Rainforest event, except that it has an Australian bush theme and we have an Australian Bush Band for your entertainment in the Outback Restaurant. This is perfect for a group of international guests.

Commando Camp

A fun filled teambuilding activity that will challenge and collaborate your team. Contact events@capta.com.au for more information.

M*A*S*H Bash [50-300 people]

Looking for something completely different for your guests? Our M*A*S*H Bash utilises the park’s amphibious Army Ducks to feature in our signature, fully themed and hosted event that recaptures the essence of the iconic TV series.
